2009 “Seasons of a
Woman”
$5,000.00
As a woman, I felt very compelled to create a piece
that expressed the different areas of life we go
through. The many “seasons” that evolve as we grow both
emotionally and spiritually. Although there are many
paths we as women choose to take, I chose to paint the
path that I found most inspirational. In this piece, I
used birds to represent the change of seasons in our
lives. Birds to me represent so many wonderful things.
They can represent freedom, spirituality, journey, or
change.
• I used the Stork to represent birth, the bringer of
life, new creation.
• The Robin to represent youth or new beginnings, the
inner child in us all.
• The Swan to represent womanhood, motherhood, grace
and beauty.
• The Owl to represent coming of age, wisdom, knowledge
and patience.
• The blackbird to represent the passing of this stage
of life, from one stage of life to another.
• The Phoenix to represent re-birth, change into the
new, starting over
As an artist, I am constantly changing, finding myself,
searching for answers, experimenting with new ideas.
These changes all bring about the different “seasons”
in life. It is a never-ending experience, which we
learn from by living.
