THE 2009 ARTERY Unveiling of "SEASONS"

Sunday, September 6th Labor Day weekend--the awaited fourth theme of The Artery titled "SEASONS" presents over 30 GIANT new art panels from local and regional artists-- forming a living mural of diversity in technique and style on display for the next two years. The Artery provides an outdoor public gallery of selected theme artists free to follow their muse and showcase their signature current work.

WHO will be the artists who make news this year? WHAT could possibly be controversial about "SEASONS"? Hopefully, the art of conversation will wag tongues and inspire community and visitors alike with delight. This year's Artery artists will be available at the unveiling to get the skinny on what in the world was their inspiration. A preview of the "Seasons" sketches are available showing how the artist muse changes from concept to creation. (They are posted as the muse presents itself---and of course, Artery panels will be hung with the smell of wet paint--sniff--ahhhhhhhhh)
2009 Artery artists listed at the end of press release.

Artery creatrix--Charlotte Buchanan-Yale has been herding these rascally cats since 2005. There are over 100 participating artists. In 2008, with her husband Artery artist James Yale, they added to the Artery Trust the Masters Apprentice Preservation Foundation--a foundation where art and media students can apply for credit hours to apprentice with elder and disabled artists in the tradition of learning their craft while helping to preserve the works of masters work that could be lost and never recorded. (Yes... we are the dinosaurs that roamed before the internet.)

Why is it a living mural? All panels are subject to change throughout the theme run with the sale of the GIANT eight foot art panels. With each sale the artist may paint a replacement panel, it is their space for two years. When a panel sells--- 60% of the sale goes to the artist and the rest goes to the artist Artery Trust and M.A.P. Masters Apprentice Preservation Foundation through our . (see. mission statement: www.thearterysite.com )

Past themes have been: "Still Life", "Water", and "ICONS--From Soup to Saints" . The collection may be seen at the Artery website. The panels have been bought as architectural accents lending themselves to enhancing not only private art collections, but commercial spaces, such as, banks, restaurants, grottos... and with a good sawsall--- new walls in homes!

The Artery's trademarked name was chosen to reflect three concepts:
1.that art is the lifeblood of our community;
2.the Artery connects Eureka Spring arts and cultural district from the North entrance of galleries to The Auditorium,
3. the Artery is an open air art gallery where all the panels are for sale through our charitable non-profit foundation umbrella of the Congressional District Program to support the working artist.

BUT WAIT... there's more to the Labor Day Tra LALA Palooza
