Wendi La Fey's masterful artistic expressions have brought pleasure to art patrons and collectors throughout the country for over 20 years. Before relocating to Eureka Springs in 2007, Wendi spent 12 years in Taos, NM Her works depicting the landscape, people, and culture of the desert and mountain Southwest were shown in her gallery on Taos plaza, as well as in a variety of art events and exhibitions in the area's prestigious venues, including the Millicent Rogers Museum, the Van Vechten-Lineberry Taos Art Museum, and the Meadow's Museum of the Arts. During her time as a founding member, and later the President, of the Taos Society of Portrait Artist (TSoPA), Wendi also performed dozens of public painting exhibitions in the museums of the area. Just before moving away from Taos in 2005, she was awarded the People's Choice at the Taos Open, one of the most competitive juried art competitions in the Southwest. Wendi sees her relocation to Eureka Springs as a new beginning. Her recent works have been inspired by her new surroundings, as well as her extensive travels. Wendi began painting as a young child, and has always known this was to be her life's path. Wendi's talents and skills were refined and enriched through classical instruction during the completion of a Fine Arts Degree at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. She further developed her unique style working along side several master painters of the Taos and Santa Fe areas. Though oil painting, and more specifically, portraits in oil, is her first love, Wendi's artistic expressions also include works in ceramics, watercolor, photography, jewelry design and even dance. Wendi La Fey is a member of Women Artists of the West and of the Portrait Society of America and is an Associate Member of the Oil Painters of America. Her art can be seen at the Muse Gallery at 12 S. Main St. in Eureka Springs, Arkansas
